Solid State Relay

Image
The solid-state relay (SSR) is an electronic switching device that switches on or off when an external voltage is applied across its terminals. Solid State Relays (SSRs) generally switch high voltage circuits on and off using the low voltage at their control terminals. A solid-state relay (SSR) does not include moving parts, making it less prone to wear and tear and more reliable than a mechanical relay. SSRs are typically used where control signals are produced by digital circuitry, such as microprocessors or programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and AC or DC loads are controlled. Besides industrial controls, lighting controls, HVAC, process controls, and other applications requiring high voltage or high current loads, they are also used to switch loads of high voltage and high current. Solid-state semiconductors utilize semiconductors’ electrical and optical properties instead of moving components to control input-to-output actions. It is an electronic switching device made of semic...

Motor Starter

Motor Starter is an electrical switching and protection device meant to safely start, stop, or protect a motor. Motor Starter is electromagnetic switches designed primarily to control the electrical power supplied to a motor, which can be automatic or manual. Besides this, Motor Starter protects the motor from low overloads and faults. Therefore it serves two major purposes – to switch the power automatically or manually to the motor and provide overload protection by preventing the motor from drawing heavy currents that may damage it. To summarize the major functions of a Motor Starter include: To Start the Motor/ Pump. To Turn off the Motor/ Pump. To prevent damages due to electrical faults. The two major elementary components of a Motor Starter are Contactor and Overload Relay. Contractors  are responsible for controlling the electrical to the motor. they establish or interrupt the current flow in a circuit. Overload Relays Relay  play the vital role of protecting th...

MCCB

MCCB –  Overview A MCCB is an electrical protection device that protects an electrical circuit from damage caused by overload or short circuits. It is a circuit breaker type, a switch that can be opened and closed to control the flow of electricity in a circuit. The MCCB is designed to automatically detect a fault condition, such as an overload or short circuit, and open the circuit to prevent any further damage. It is typically used in commercial and industrial applications where the circuit is expected to draw more current than a standard circuit breaker can safely handle. The MCCB is capable of handling up to about 1000 amps. Electricity, since the time of its inception, has transformed the world, impacting lives of people. However, it’s a source of limitless power that needs to be controlled and used wisely and safely while conserving it at the same time. Ergo, the increasing demand for electrical devices that fulfill this purpose. MCBs and MCCBs are such important tools that ar...
