Motor Protection Circuit Breaker (MPCB)

Image
Overview The term MPCB refers to Motor Protection Circuit Breaker. An MPCB is a circuit breaker designed specifically for protecting electric motors against overloads, short circuits, under voltage, and phase losses. The motor protection circuit breaker (MPCB) protects the motor from faults using a thermal-magnetic circuit breaker. For electric motors, the selection of the MPCB depends upon the motor’s full load current and the maximum short circuit current possible. MPCBs are available for different voltage levels, generally around 230 V to 660 V. They are unique in that they can withstand starting currents without interrupting the circuit. Functions of MPCB:-  Motor protection circuit breakers, or MPCBs, are specialized electromechanical devices that can be used with motor circuits at both 60Hz and 50Hz. Several functions allow it to provide a safe electrical supply for motors:  A protection system against electrical faults, such as short circuits, line-to-ground faul...

Power capacitor

Image
Overview LT capacitor LT capacitors  are manufactured using Zn-Al metalized polypropylene film. These modules are provided with pressure interrupter arrangement for safety against bursting due to internal pressure arised due to prolonged high voltage/current. The modules are assembled in an aluminum case or CRCA container. Non self healing APP capacitors manufactured using double hazy and double thick Polypropylene films between two electrodes of thick Aluminium foil have extended foil construction to ensure low watt losses.

RCCB

RCCB are important safety measures for protecting electrical circuits. This current-sensing device automatically disconnects a circuit when a fault occurs, or the current exceeds its sensitivity. Designed to protect an individual from shocks, electrocutions, and fires, an RCCB is especially helpful in cases of earth faults that occur suddenly. As a result, an RCCB ensures that an electric shock will not occur in such cases since it trips the circuit immediately. Principle behind RCCB As stated by Kirchhoff’s law, RCCBs work by matching the incoming current with the outgoing current in a circuit. This allows an RCCB to compare live and neutral wire current values. The live and neutral wires should have the same current flowing to the circuit. If a fault occurs, the residual current is the differential between the neutral wire current and the fault current. RCCB s also have a test button that allows users to test their functionality by creating a small leakage current. By pressing the te...

MCB - Miniature Circuit Breakers

Introduction of MCB MCBs, or “ Miniature Circuit Breakers ,” should be installed in place of fuses for improved safety and control. Instead of a fuse, an MCB acts as an automated switch that opens if an excessive amount of current enters a circuit. As a result, a manual replacement is not required once the circuit returns to normal. Most circuits use MCBs instead of fuse switches. MCBs are used in all types of home, commercial, and industrial applications today. Their breaking capacities range from 10 KA to 16 KA. Protection from these MCBs is dependable. What is Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB)? MCB (Miniature Circuit Board) is a safety device with significant  applications  in both commercial and residential areas. This device is an electro-mechanical circuit protection device. Through an automatic safety mechanism, it prevents electrical circuits from being damaged by excessive current flow. The MCB operates automatically, which means that if a short circuit or overcurrent o...

Motor control center

Image
Introduction of MCC & PCC A Motor Control Center (MCC) is an assembly that controls several or all-electric motors centrally. There are multiple enclosed sections and a common power bus. Each section has a combination starter, which consists of a motor starter, fuses or circuit breakers, and a power disconnect. It is also possible to equip a motor control center with push buttons, indicator lights, variable-frequency drives, programmable logic controllers, and metering equipment. In some buildings, it may be combined with the electrical service entrance. Typically, Motor Control Centers can be found in large industrial or commercial buildings containing a lot of electrical motors that must be controlled centrally, such as an electrical room or mechanical room.
